If you are checking this washer's registry figures, here they are. The GE Profile G54I_2_T uses about 773 kWh a year with an electric water heater and an electric dryer. It uses 6,850 gallons of water a year. Its IMEF, the cubic feet of laundry washed per kilowatt-hour, dryer included, is 2.06, above its class median of 1.57.
Energy and water per year
773 kWh a year with an electric water heater and an electric dryer
Computed by this site from the registry's IMEF and drum capacity at DOE's test use of 295 cycles a year. IMEF counts the washer, heating its water electrically, and the electric dryer's work on what the spin leaves wet — so this is the total for that kind of home. How it is calculated
The machine and its hot water alone, dryer not included: 145 kWh a year, as ENERGY STAR files it.
Not published: A home with a gas water heater, a gas dryer or line drying
DOE's rating assumes electric water heating and an electric dryer and files no split between the machine, the water heating and the drying.
Such a home uses less electricity than the total above; how much less, no registry says for this model.
6,850 gallons of water a year
Computed from the registry's IWF and drum capacity at the same 295 cycles a year.
Not published: What the water costs
water and sewer rates are set by thousands of local utilities and no free national source publishes them.
The gallons above are the figure to multiply by your own water and sewer rate.
This model is rated above the federal minimum IMEF for its class.

The 773 kWh total is computed by this site from DOE registry values, not published by the registry itself. It combines the IMEF of 2.06 with the capacity, the drum's volume in cubic feet, of 5.4. Both values come from DOE's Compliance Certification Database, retrieved 2026-10-25. Because IMEF includes the dryer, that total also covers drying the load in an electric dryer. ENERGY STAR files a separate machine-only figure for this model of 145 kWh a year. That figure counts the washer and its electrically heated water alone, with the dryer left out. The difference between 773 kWh and 145 kWh is therefore the dryer's share at DOE's test use. The method is set out on the page on how the yearly energy and water figures are calculated.

The 6,850 gallons figure is also this site's calculation, made at DOE's test use. It rests on IWF, the gallons of water used per cycle for each cubic foot of drum, which is 4.3 here. That rate is multiplied by the 5.4 cubic-foot drum and the yearly cycle count. The cost of that water is not shown, because no free national source publishes local water and sewer rates. The electricity running cost is not stated in this text either. It depends on your own utility tariff, so the page computes it from your ZIP code instead. The installed-cost range sits in its own block, with its source and date, as a modeled range rather than a quote.
The class is the 870 models registered as top-loading washers of standard size. Their median IMEF is 1.57, against this model's 2.06. By IMEF it ranks 37th highest of 870, which places it above the class median. Of those models, 652 sit at the federal minimum IMEF for the class, while this one is rated above it. The federal minimum value itself is not available in the data behind this page. This model is sold under the numbers PTW700B*T***, PTW800B*W***, and the figures above apply to each of them. Other washers in the class are listed on the index of all clothes washer pages.
