What the numbers here are, what they are not, and whose data they come from.
Figures are derived, and are not quotes
Every cost on this site is computed from published test data and a published tariff. It is an estimate of what an appliance would cost to run under stated assumptions, and those assumptions are printed alongside it. Installed-cost ranges in particular are statistical ranges from public cost models — they are not a quote, and no contractor is bound by them.
Incentive information is not tax advice
Rebate and tax-credit eligibility described here is our reading of published program rules on a stated date. Programs change, funds run out and eligibility depends on facts about you that we do not know. Confirm with the program administrator or a tax professional before relying on it.
Sources, attribution and what is not implied
Data on this site comes from government registries and public datasets, each named on the page that uses it, with the date it was retrieved. Use of that data does not mean the publishing agency endorses, reviews or is affiliated with this site — no agency does, and we never describe ourselves as approved or certified by one. Agency logos and certification marks are not reproduced here.
Some sources carry licence restrictions that limit what we may republish. Where a restriction prevents publishing something, the page says so rather than working around it.
