What this site does, what it refuses to do, and who to write to when a number looks wrong.
What it does
Manufacturers are legally required to file measured performance data for regulated appliances with government registries. That data is public, free and machine-readable. It is also unusable as published: it reports test-condition energy figures, not money, and it makes no contact with the rate you are charged.
This site closes that gap. It pulls the filings, applies the published tariff of the utility that serves a given postal code, and shows the resulting cost with the source and pull date attached to every input.
"Measured" means measured by the registry
We do not test appliances. We own no laboratory, buy no units and run no comparisons of our own. Every measurement on this site was taken by a manufacturer under a government test procedure and filed with a regulator. Our work is arithmetic and sourcing, and the distinction matters: a claim that we measured anything would be a claim we could not support.
What will not appear here
No reliability score, because no registry publishes one and inventing one would burn the only thing this site has. No star ratings or reviews, because we hold none. No opinion about what a registry does not report — where data is missing, the page says what is missing, why, and what stands in its place.
